Subscription change question

Question with a short answer I suspect.

I've had Sky since the beginning of September. Which means Sky World will cost me €53 per month till next September (got that letter from Sky) rather than the new €60 charge.

If I slide down to Sky Movies World now, will they charge me the €45pm I would have been charged before the increase? Or the new €52pm charge since the increase?

I'd guess that altering your sub would nullify the 1 year price freeze but simple solution is to ring up sky and ask them. I reckon a straight answer on that question is just within their abilities, but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

Afaik thats correct, you will be charged the new dearer rate if you change your package.
So weigh up the cost of the extra for less and see if it's not worth your while staying the way you are, even if you do not watch much of the sports channels ie €12 .

However you could try bargaining with them and threaten to leave altogether.
They always offer discounts for lapsed customers to come back.
A little more difficult in your case probably when your box is still owned by them as you are subbed less than 12 months.

Like yourself I am a new Sky customer(start of Sept) and got the letter to the effect that my sub would not go up for 12 months. As I remember though as part of my initial contract I had to take the full subscription for the first month and thereafter I could downgrade to another package. Now as the costings for my initial sub are based on the prices prior to the increase I would think you have a good case to insist you get the prices in effect when you signed up. The argument being if you were allowed to get Sky Movies World initially you would now have it at the pre increase price.
