Band Forming

I am a drummer trying to from a band in south Dublin (Knocklyon). I have very little experience but
I hope to form a band with influences including: At The Drive-In, Liars, Murder City Devils,
The Dismemberment Plan , and other emo bands. I need a guitarest , bass player and singer
male or female. Ages between 17 - 19.
You do not need to have any experience cause I dont. This is not a cover band or a band to do gigs
just a band to record a few original songs. Reply below with age what you play and bands you like.

im 19 and have been playing for a good while. i have relatively the same interests from at the drive in to incubus to vex red to even jazz so im pretty open minded.

i play guitar alot and am looking to join a band straight away. iv played in a lot of bands and gigged so im not new at the whole thing but i just wanna play and make some good music.

guitarist, 18 years old, male, some experience in gigging (mostly cover playing for about 1 year, 10 gigs ish).

I listen to practically anything (except rap and dance music liike "scooter"), and have been playing for 3 years now. Can put my hand to most things, but not everything. I'd be interested alright, considaring i live in Rathfarnham (10 mins cycle from knocklyon shopping centre).

Funny you should say that... i happen to have one for sale. My bro gave it up, and has been looking to sell the kit. Might be able to work some sort of lend/sell thing out if anything happens.

I'm in Rathfanham (near Templeogue, south dublin), unfortunatley can't be practicing here, neighbours complain.

cant practice at mine either, fookin bent neighbours go wild...we can get a room in town for 50euro (approx) for a few hours, split between 4 or so, its grand. or in ucd (nice and central) where i'm going to campaign for access to practice rooms for students, its crazy that in a place the size of ucd, there isnt ready access to space for student bands to practice in

i'm attending UCD next september. doing electronic engineering.

I'll definately be checking out the music soc, or whatever is available.

But before we all go splashing out on a practice room, we should probably meet up somewhere else to chat or whatever, providing we get a full band together.

music soc in ucd is a total waste of time unless all you want is classical string quartets, jazz trios or acoustic singer/songwriter bull**** - there are no facilities for bands in ucd so far as i can see.

of course we meet before we do anything, me and dregin-x met there last term for a jam in dcu but it couldnt work cause i cant afford the time to travel all the way to ballymun every week, but if we get some where more central it could work.

bernard, are you living in dcu res again next term or whats the story?

Ya i'd be up for meeting up. I'm in collage in maynooth but its no bother . If we are going to meet up should i bring up some lyrics for you to check out or should i wait.

I live in knocklyon too!by the looks of things ye have yer band sorted and all by now but im chancin me arm! Im a girl and soprano singer have experience
in solo singing but would love to sing with a band especially one just down the road!if ye want 2 try a female singer for a change or a back-up singer im ya gal!
im the allanis morissette/cranberries/evanessancey type voice.... giz a shout either way....?! Cheers Ant
