I used to have an online cd store in my favourites but I lost it. You could search for an artist, list their albums and then listen to a 10 second clip of each song. Anyone know of a similar place?

I believe www.cdnow.com is what you're looking for.

If the tracks aren't listenable there for a particular album, try www.amazon.com. Though afaik they might only do the first several tracks off the album.
