gpl broke my mind

After almost reaching the brink of insanity brought about by the lack of grip in gpl i decided to go modern again and discovered two rather nice substitutes.

first is free(if you have gp3) www.grand-prix-3.de has a free 2002 season update for gp3. its very professional with all the 2002 tracks including the new hockenheim and vast improvements over the standard track graphics in gp3. there is also pit communication through gpxpatch that was not in the original one. rather nice me thinks. there is also a 2001 upadate there as well.

second is not free, f1 2002. there is so much eye candy in this one your teeth will rot. that pretetious little undeserved world champ villeneuve has actually let his name be used to. based on the 2002 season(as the name suggests) new hockenheim, etc.. all the usual. feels a little more arcadey than gp3s effort but can be just as unforgiving with the traction control and other helpers turned off.

ive spent the entire day trying to decide wich one i like the feel of more and still aint decided yet. the gp3 upate seems to have a bug in the rev limiter. once you redline in 6th gear the next time you get back into sixth you will go no faster than 180mph. that has annoyed me quite a bit. you cant slide in the gp3 update but in f1 2002 ive been throwing them around a lot. these little things might have swayed me to f1 2002 but the frame rate in gp3 is still much better.
