Posters in here have DSL in Cork (this week) and Limerick (months ago) .....

According to the Exchange list on the ESAT site its available NOW in Kerry but there is no independent confirmation yet. Same applies in a few other twons in the Midlands and West.

How did the PR bunnies manage to relaunch it this time, if they are not busy peddling vapour they go ahaead and relaunch existing services?

Esat had a DSL roadshow in Tralee yesterday. The Xchange in Tralee is now DSL'ed. 'Kerry' overall doesn't have DSL, only a radius of about 5km around the Tralee eircom Xchange has DSL options

The interesting thing about Eircon DSL related Vapour is that all the rumours have appeared in local and regional papers and were not attributed. The national papers have kept schtumm about it .....you cannot check facts when reality is different.

The Minishters constituency ...Louth....is vapoured to be in line for it according to one article in the Dundalk paper recently....

If they are vapouring Cork/Limerick it is probably because Eircom have a heads up on the uptake for the ESAT product seeing as the lines are being taken OFF Eircon thru LLU .

These little rumours are there to test the market. Then you ring 1901 to find out and all you get 75% of the time is muppets with Eircon muppetry like.

    'we don't do that'
    'its not available'
'call this number' turns out to be a dogwarden in Wexford

Their own systemic incompetence will kybosh any rumour their PR bunnies slither into the local media. Morons.

AFAIK Eircon have not installed ANY DSLAM in the country outside of

Dublin (maybe a smidge of Kildare and Wicklow)
    Achill Island
    Ennis

Rumours is all we have and at their prices for a mangy 3Gb that you could use up in a little over HALF a day they will be Crucified by ESAT in a head to head.

You can forget about Ennis as well. The infomation age project is now completed and eircon want to wipe their hands clean of it. If you know anybody willing to buy second hand switches and DSL equipment please contact Clare County Council.

As has been noted, they pulled out of Ennis a month or two ago. A press release was quoted on this forum about it.
