Can someone explain to me what the diference between CVSup and CVS is? And why do they have to be used together to update the src properly. Or do they have to be used together to update the src properly or is this just good practise?

CVSup is the newer CVS. You don't need to run CVS if you're running CVSup infact you shouldn't.

All you need is CVSup and a supfile.

This connects to the CVS repository specified, compares source and updates as needed.
