Luckily the contents were't very private or important
but all the same a bit of a shock, esp as I did'nt
recognise the name of the sender or his e-mail addy.

    Worrying!

    Mike.

Sounds like it may be the Klez worm, or something similar

Are you using the latest virus pattern on your AV package

I think it is some mail list bull, they must be doing a BCC on the mail and sending out "Oh I found this site" or "I saw a great way of earning money" bla bla, or "I hope you got home ok" you get my drift - then you think oh I seem to have got someone else email, could be a virus attached I am not sure - but there is a trick there somewhere

I'd go with the bugbear virus, it's been all over the place this morning and if you virus definitions are more than two days old you have no protection.

Heres the contents of the mail - I just spotted its 3 years old!
I'm just up and very disorganised. Also I left my wallet at work last

I'm getting my hair cut aswell, and have to sort out sooooooo much else...
and my flight is at five or something....aaaaarrgh

No news other that that! I'll send a postcard...not.

tell mum I'll call mon or tue, when I get home.

have a nice time at the "dance" - I'll be thinking of you in LONDON - ha

    have to run

I agree, you will probably find that the Bugbear is in your pc.
I had two spurious e-mails which triggered me to check and sure enuff it was there.
it disable your av software, so if you run your anti-virus and it stops within a few seconds then you definitely have it.

I've run my anti-viurs programme and all a/v stuff is running without a glitch. However I'll update and run
    it again. Just in case....:(

Just updated anti-virus prog and also checked reg key
    in question-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce and its clean.

I think I'm okay. Maybe someone hasd my e-mail from
here or my web site or a number of other places and simply used the wrong contact name in his/her address book....?

    Mike.
