    First try, friend suggested it.

    You never think it happens,
    Yet always knew it could,
That a life could end so early,
    Although it never should.

    That a fireman or astronaut,
So young and yet so brave,
Would never get up into space,
But end up in a grave.

    That such a good musician,
    Would never get to play,
    That a superstar footballer,
    At Wembley'd never play.

Two more days was all he had,
To get off of that Bus,
    Cross over with his sister,
To his mother in An Post.

Look left and right, he always did,
    It's dangerous on that road,
He'd learnt it with his walking,
He knew his safe cross code.

    The firemen worked like soldiers,
Pulled him from underneath the car,
He died once for a while,
But he hadn't gone too far.

He had come back to us,
We go a chance to say goodbye,
I couldn't go to see him,
I still do not know why.

    Maybe to just remember him,
    Just as he'd always been,
So full of life and love and joy,
    Anything else would be obscene.

I know now there's no accidents,
That fate's got it all planned,
He's buried by my Grandad's plot,
They could be hand in hand.
