it is unclear as to what the wwe is really after - the story broke because the wwe were trying to buy up the ecw video library from bankruptsy (sp?) court and have a late night show under the wwe banner - so does this mean that they are intending to have an ecw style classics show? - i hope not for a few reasons - 1) they would water down the what was aleady watered down show from the sunshine network b) it would surely mean an end to the delta video releases - i have many other concerns but they are two of the most obvious fallouts of wwe buying the back catalogue - and does anyone think that wwe would release half of that catalogue - look at the wcw back catalogue - the wwe has not touched it since buying it a year and a half ago

p.s. heyman already has creative control in wwe - he is the head writer of the smackdown brand - sure he has a limited control but think about it - if the ecw resurfaced under the wwe, heyman would only have a limited control of that - and lets face another fact - vince is no fan of ecw or its many styles, sure he borrowed and stole for it creatively, story wise, talent wise etc but that is because it was seen as so good mid/late 90s but the concensus among the 'movers and shakers' is that the 'hardcore' style was a trend which is long past its sell by date so what would vince do to a new ecw? - it a scary thought - if current wwe is a guideline then it doesnt look good - they dropped the hardcore title just as it was becoming respectable and no longer a comedy gimmick thanks to the likes of rvd, jeff hardy, dreamer et all - also look at dreamer now in wwe - despite now being quite over in the wwe for the past 2 months or so he has yet to get a break - how many ppvs have we seen him on? 1 - ans that was in a battle royal and a bit played at that as the wwe execs look down on him as just someone who is silly/gullible enough totake exteme beatings! - sad but true
