Must be Autumn already - another few paintings swiped from Russborough House. The place is like a sure-win lottery for thieves.

    Thieves steal priceless paintings

Thieves have got away with five priceless paintings including two by Rubens from Russborough House in Co Wicklow.

The raiders are believed to have gained access to the building through a rear window.

The alarm was raised at about 6am and a four-wheel drive vehicle was found abandoned close to the scene.

Gardaí are set to carry out a forensic examination of the scene.

Last week two paintings stolen from the house were recovered by gardaí.

Some kind of new-fangled electrified alarm system (these things do exist don't they?) might well stop people taking paintings out the bathroom window. Just a suggestion and all that.
