Just curious if any one thinks that Konami have gone as far as they can with ISS or on the flip side thinks more can be done.

    Cheers

I dont think they could improve much on the gameplay other than on a couple of small points - any major changes would be, well, simply changes and unlikely to improve the game itself.

On the other hand, theres plenty of other stuff they can do. They can improve on features like the Master League, make them more customisable etc.

And the aesthetics of the game could be improved a good deal as well. Its come a long way since the PSX, but it still isnt as photorealistic as the Fifa games - the players faces, for example. Also, the commentary remains resolutely dreadful, and requires immense amounts of work.

As Asuka said its just small, individual points that need to be improved upon, nothing major needs changing.

    (1) the goalie needs to be improved on. im sure other people have noticed that when an opposing player is one-on-one with the goalie, the goalie will run out from the goal at a ridiculus angle leaving a huge gap to one side - verrrrry annoying.

    (2) the indirect free kicks perhaps need to be improved upon, its just impossible judge the amount of power required for the kind of cross you wnat to do.

hopefully theyll gring out these problems in the forthcoming sequel

I reckon the biggest "issue" with pro evolution soccer is the notion that a player only gets one chance to hold the ball, and thereafter they are oblivious to play - ie.. all the god dam ball watching the players do.

How many times have you been running with the ball, find it tackled off you, but it still ends up bouncing in the direction you were running; just perfect for you to run onto it and continue your run - yet the game, no matter what, doesn't let you control it.

    Other issues:

How many times have you watched a forward in the box close to the ball completely ignore it for some unkown reason.

Would the game be any worse off if they made some players not take 20 metres to slow down (and hence give you back control of that player) after a sprint. Some times its unbelievable, after 8 steps your pass commands still aren't going through.

How many times have you screamed at the screen because the "man-changing" function chooses the most stupid player (this is especially annoying when trying to defend, and it keeps choosing wingers up the field rather than the central defenders).

How often have you wanted to kick the programmers for "man-choosing" function for passes and through-balls.

Ok some of these things are probably a combination of my stupidity and there not really being any other better alternative - programming wise; but I do think the flow of the game could be improved/tweaked to make it still require the same skill but still become a much smoother and free-flowing intuitive experience. Its still a brilliant game though.

Greenbean you should experiment with the three levels of dash available in PES,

    R1 - Dash -
    R2 - Dash Dribble
L2 - Dribble control thingy - teh johan cruff

Thay cant make PES any better, but they can make it worse, the ISS-ISS2 for the PSX and PS2 where dreadful - too arcady

some the players seem to be a bit dense........when the ball breaks loose and rolls somewhere or when a pass is hit a bit too short the nearest player sometimes just stands there with the ball right beside them
