    Hi all.. a quick question:

Win95 machine keeps getting a bad case of BSoD with the error message

    A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:00054933 in VxD VNETBIOS(01) + 5EB.

From the MS website I found the following relating to that message:

0E Exception in VNETBIOS if NetBIOS Commands Are Issued Quickly
The information in this article applies to:
    Microsoft Windows 95
    Symptoms
When you run a program in Windows 95 that uses the NetBIOS Application Programming Interface (API) and issues multiple NetBIOS commands in a very short time, you may receive the following error message:
    A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:<xxxxxxxx> in VxD VNETBIOS(01) + 5EB.
    Cause
This problem can occur if three or more asynchronous network control blocks (NCBs), or NCBs from different threads or processes, are started for the AddName function before the first NCB completes.
    Resolution
    Status
This problem no longer occurs in Windows 98. To resolve this problem, install the current version of Windows. For information about the current version of Windows, visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows.

My Question: Any other way around this other than an upgrade for windows?

see, told you the question was quick!

if the machine is standalone this feature is superflous and can probably be removed if you trash client for microsoft networks in network control panel.

if its on a network then reinstall it and run the tcp/ip update version 2 (something like that) from www.microsoft.com/downloads select windows 95 look at the list , that fixed a number of issues such as this back in 1997

Ironically adding Netbeui protocol can fix some NetBIOS issues (if you are only runing tcpip protocol now) as long as the other machines on the network have it too.
