    [copied from usenet]

BBC Two features an hour-long live comedy special as a tribute to the
late Spike Milligan, on Sunday, October 6.

The programme is a celebration of Milligan's life and work through
laughter, stories, music, sketches and readings.

Performers taking part include Eddie Izzard, Kathy Burke, Harry
Enfield, John Dankworth, Eric Sykes, Stephen Tompkinson and Terry
    Jones.

The event was recorded last Sunday at The Guildhall in London in aid
of The Square Mile, which is dedicated to raising money for mental
    health projects.

Spike Milligan... I Told You I Was Ill" - A Live Tribute is broadcast
    at 21:00.

Apparently... this is completely true... according to another usenet poster:

I was reading in the paper today how someone jumped on the stage in the middle of it dressed as osma bin laden and did a song - much to the bemusement of the people involved! I have a feeling mr milligan was smiling on his angellic cloud when that happened! Now there is a tribute worth laughing at!
