College is a larf. This morning, they laid on a 'gettin to know you' breakfast for all 1st maths science people, the danishes were damn good and there was unlimited coffee!
    Hehe UCD rocks!

All I know is that the computer lab in my school is a closely guarded secret known only to a few. Seriously, noone knows about them or uses them. When we actually have a class in there, all you do is really logon to the network and talk to your friends on the other computers via the server. And me supposed to be studying for my City and Guilds examination!

Hehe, i havent actually used the computers in college yet apart from RedHat Linux for doing C which basically froze when trying to get online :(

I joined..... Orinteering, Fan Soc, Drama Soc, Basketball club, Literary & Debating.... and thats about it :) I liked to save my money.

Actually... does anyone remember Caoimhin ? (Asuka you should) - I walked into him on the way into the societies day and that was all odd :)

I love the computers in Trinity. They're so shiny and new.......
I joined the Phil, the Hist, the lawsoc, tass, young greens, amnesty, trampoling club, and have conveniently forgotten the rest. Ah well. Vote yes.

Oh and there are so many Ctyiers here, yet for some strange reason they all seem to be doing science (except Cillian).

It's weird... all of a sudden I kinda think i know what i wanna do... I don't know why and it doesn't have any practical application... but i'm gonna do it oh yeah!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 430 ✭✭qwidgybo

oooooooh!what do you want to do?!?!???tellmetellmetellme

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 402 ✭✭Man U babe

Grace: Trinity? Why oh why oh why?
    What ya doin there anyway?

Sven: Say philosophy. G'wan. If you say my course I will have to come to the institute and kick ya square in the nuts.

Anyways, Joanne is in a very good mood. I got the recheck results back today, I've got an A1 in physics now, that means I'm now on 570.Yay me!
    Sorry for my self-indulgence.

Because of....it's beautiful architecture, because I'm a snob at heart, because it's nearer my house, because Dermo's here.......I don't know, why the questions, why? And our fresher's ball only cost 18 instead of 30 so I'm happy cos I have no money.
I'm doing the ole law and french thingy. Year in France, yay!!! Lalalala, camembert and cabernet sauvignon, deedumdee......

I wanna do a double moderatorship <or whatever it's called> on Philosophy and Maths in Trinity.

    yeah.

    HA!

<both utterly pointless as regards careers... outside teaching...>

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 402 ✭✭Man U babe

Well I'm doing maths, so it cant be that pointless! But I have to do maths physics for 3 years so that has (sort of) a purpose. I tend to get a bit pissed off when people say that doing a maths degree is completely pointless. Philosophy, on the other hand.....

Gwan peeps come to UCD! You know ya want the concrete architecture, the dodgy science block food, the fun-tastic Freshers Ball, etc, etc, etc.
Well done for getting law/french tho Grace. Whats that, bout 570?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 649 ✭✭✭strawberry

    580 methinks.
The points for normal law have dropped in god knows what round so there large groups of new people fleeing UCD joining us. Which just proves that we've got better buildings. And the government publications is just around the corner which is handy if you're doing legal. So pointless. I'll shut up now.

anyway, i was glancing through a criminal law book the other day, and tis actually quite interesting. couldn't stand it as a career though. am thinking of doing something like computers and japanese. japan has just the best language and culture. imho

Sven: my sisters doing one of them, Psychology and English. you'd need roughly 540 upwards points. Good Luck! *meant in a non-sarcastic way*

Actually the points depend on the subjects you choose. I don't think it's as high as 540 for philosophy and maths.

Neil, your sister's doing Psychology and English? Very cool. That's what I want to do... the points are now at 570 for that. I'm not depressed or disheartened. Not one bit.... ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 649 ✭✭✭strawberry

Law and french second years have criminal law with straight law first years, so no I'm not in any classes with your brother. What's his name though?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 250 ✭✭Plasticman

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭lordsippa
