Comedy Movies - old skool tried & tested or new age "teen" comedy?

Watching Airplane tonight, I got to thinking how I've enjoyed very few comedy movies lately as much as that.
ROFL! MG that film is brilliant!

I for one, much prefer the old skool comedy ie. The Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy.
LOL! It's been absolute ages since one of their flicks have been on tv and tis a shame.

The Marx Bros in particular are classic films and deserver more runs on tv.
Groucho Marx is prolly one of the greatest screen comic actors EVER.
Nobody could come close to anything ever done by him & his bros.

    Nowadays, what do we have?
The same ole same ole "Teen, toilet humour" comedies that get old quickly.

Whereas the older movies I could watch again and again, the likes of American Pie & Scary Movie aren't worth watchin more than 2-3 times.

Has the comedy genre reached a dead end?

I fear it has butt I could be wrong...

Aye, Rat Race was pretty good.

I have to say I've never really taken to Monthy Python. I wouldn't have seen much of the stuff butt what I have seen I've loved!

Bring back the old skool comedy!
