Alpha Centauri - anyone edited it?

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri It's an interesting game to mess around with, they even give you a guide to help edit it on the text documents. I was wondering whether anyone has made any changes to make it even more interesting, in anything at all, like the civs (most obviously), or base facilities, etc.
