The Financial Times reports that UK telecoms regulator Oftel has proposed major cuts in BT Group's prices for wholesale high-speed Internet connections. Oftel said it wanted BT to halve the prices of partial private circuits (PPCs), the former monopoly's key wholesale component of leased lines. The move is aimed at bringing down prices and boosting competition in the leased line market. Oftel also proposed a 30 percent decrease in BT's line rental prices.
