apart from the heaveyweights like grandprix 3/4 (which unless everyones into it just aren't fun)..

are there any decent fun driving games for the pc for 4 or more players (preferably 8)?

(sega rally2 is brill but doesn't run on 2000/xp)

how many players do gta2 or colin mcrae 2 support?

that or any sort of crazy dash to the flag game..

    Wasn't E-Racer online aswell?

I think you can use Carmageddon online aswell.

Has Crazy Taxi come out for the PC yet and does it support multiplayer support?

    1nsane

"Forget rules, forget roads. Insane takes you to the world's most extreme locations and lets you drive all over them.
Put your foot down and take on Internet Players from across the globe.
Its not just driving - its driving you mad.
Over 20 intense machines for the full off-road driving experience.
A wild landscape, some gates scattered around it and up to 8 users..."

    Simple... Yet fun.

Yup Eracer is a great multiplayer game as anybody who attends the Darkside LAN's can testify.

You can play with 8 and it's a great laugh as nearly all the tracks are figure 8's etc and not a straight line so dirty tricks and head on collisions are the norm. A lot of variety too with indoor sections and obstacles like a flat bed truck trailer with only room for 1 car at a time to go under.

It's a great laugh and always attracts people from their CS and Quake at the Lan's.

1nsane is great but for some strange reason when i upgraded to win2k and later xp it ran incredibly slowly. the same happened with rally masters. www.motorcityonline.com looks good. havent seen it in the shops here and its massivly multiplayer so its subscraiption based.

Grand Prix Legends, 20 player online races, despite being 4 yrs old it has a massive following with lots of mods available, 100's of new tracks and loads of graphical enhancements. this is a 'simulation', its not for the faint hearted, set in 1967, the cars go very quick in a straight line ... but slick tires, wings for downforce etc etc hadn't been heard of yet, takes quite a while to get good at but is worth it.

Nascar2002, 43 player online races, loads of leagues, jolk in the uk have 5 or 6 servers, great fun and easier to get into than gpl.
