Ok i'm on the dole and i live in finland now...

OK the strange thing is that they determin your money by your partner's income so instead of 22 euro a day i get 9 !!!!!

so for 20 days i should come out with only 181 but they TAX your dole here so i only came out with 140 (20%)
i was just wondering if anyone has ever heard where the unemplayed get taxed ????

    Meanos

this is TAX and in ireland where i'm from they just give you an amount say 108 euro a week if i remember right but the reason i'm so miffed is that i only get 9 euro a day or 45 euro a week and i still get taxed .. i know in ireland that if you earn under 9000 a year you don't pay tax and for the year at 45 a week i come out with 2340 but that is before tax

    Strange alright.

It pis probably a function of welfare and taxation being two distince autonomous bodies in finland.

The social welfare you get is probably no more or less than you'd get if they operated the system differently. It probably just suits them from an accounting standpoint to view welfare and its taxation seperately.

I won't argue with that. After all we're from the country that charges taxation on taxation on newly bought cars. ;)
