    Has anyone else has trouble running deus ex on xp? every time i try to start it it crashes with an error about the about the sound. has anyone else had this problem and gotten around it without disabling sound? i need to play the best game ever again.

    Have you tried running it in compatibility mode?
    Just right click on the exe and go to properties and look in there..... See if that works.

    Agree with mbroaders about the compatibility tab.

    Worked for me after I suffered numerous random crashes through out the game specially during long sessions.

    If you have onboard sound try updating the drivers.

    Happend to me to, i just patched it up and it was fine.

    ive patched it up and used compatability modes, and nothing.
    could be an sp1 issue. flight simulator 2002 has also given up. im going to reinstall xp and start from scratch.
