I saw an interview with george lucas in which he referred to Green lightsabers as for masters Blue for apprentices and Red for "Bad guys" He was saying that he hoped people didnt start thinking purple was for the jedi council b'cos of mace windu is this true or is it another lucas lie? B'cos there are a number of cracks in it such as Obi Wans continued use of blue even when he becomes a master

tho these may have symbolic meaning i.e he is not above Anakin whose powers exceed his although once again this would be contradicted by Obi Wan kicking Anakins whinny-ass in eps3

All very good points, but there just shiny stick they use to cleave or even chop various body parts.
