    Saw too many ppl with the Autobot symbol so i decided to change, wanted to make one up myself...

    But I can't see a way of doing that? I've seen on other boards the ability to link to a little gif or something...

    Just an idea, and I hope I'm not missing a stupid option which allows you to do exactly that somewhere :)

    Theres one I havent seen in a while, no go on that unless Dr. Cloud has changed his stance on it.

    while your idea in general is a good one it can cause too much trouble by people having animated gifs or huge ones or ones of improper material yes i do mean porn.

    this has been discussed many times and end result is always the same NO. not now atleast maybe in next version of vb but just not right now.

    If you think about the possible implications of this you would understand that there are way too many people on this board that would abuse it for all its worth.

    Untill we can come up with a way around this that Cloud and Devore agree with there is no chance of custom avatars being implemented.

    Surely it would be possible to set a 300b limit to the size of the avatars? Or even set up a forum, and allow only a mod to add it or something? As for any one who tries to abuse it, well, it won't be too long before someone notices it, just remove the option for them to use ANY avatar...

    Unfortunately there've been numerous discussions on the topic before, hence the specially designed "Gathering" card you may have seen being posted!

    You can search back through the archives if you wish, but suffice to say that it would be (1) to difficult to stop pornographic / advertising avatars and (2) the quality would vary from person to person resulting in a messy look to the forums. That's why we've kept all avatars to 32 x 32. If you have a good quality set of 32 x 32 avatars, I will consider adding them.
