This might seem a funny question....has anyone here ever had a hepatitis A (not the other strains) vaccination? And did you get crushing headaches afterwards, and just generally feel like crap?

If you are worried about the side affects of any treatment that you have received then just ring your doctor, you wont even need to go see him/her.

For anyone else thinking of going somewhere that a Hep A vaccine is suggested, make sure you get it...

I personally havent had the Hepatitus A Vaccine, but i have had the Hepatitus A Virus, and believe me, its a hell of a lot worse than what you are describing... to be honest, if i could have had a vaccine before getting the virus i would be a lot happier now.

Hep A can be picked up anywhere public, its generally spread by someone elses poor hygiene. Around the time i contracted it, i was working as a lounge girl, so i could have gotten it from anyone.

Just FYI the symptoms of Hep A include:
Itching, all over, everywhere, your whole body, all the time, and scratching doesnt help.
Being so nauseous that even talking about looking at pictures of food makes you want to vomit.
Going a rather nice shade of YELLOW.
Being so very tired you want to just sit and cry.

While you have it, you cannot eat fatty foods, your liver cannot handle it. You will be pretty much put in quarantine, having to disinfect everything you eat on or with... not to mention what has to be done for the stuff that comes out after you eat...

For a year after having it, you cannot consume any alcohol whatsoever, unless you really want to risk permanent liver damage.

You may never ever for the rest of your life give blood...

As hepatitus goes, its the least damaging strain, and its not like Hep B or C which can/will kill you, and stay with you for the rest of your life... but it is a lot easier to catch, and pass on.

I don't think you can just go 'Give me a shot' and get one, but I could be wrong.
I was exposed to HepA in Canada, and should have got a shot before I left, but eh...didn't.
