I know its not so much of a 'sport', but breakdancing is part of the hiphop life style that some skaters like. I just wanna know is there anyone on these boards that can break and has any pictures?

Im Part of Breakin Headz Cru in Dublin. Were one of the only active bboy crews around dublin at the moment from what i can gather.however if there is anyother crews/solo's out there get in touch for a Jamm / Training as the more of us there is the more we can develope skills/styles! Most of us have been dancin for on average 3yrs (but some have for alot more and Less). Theres about 10 core members but we train with many others(both boyz and gurls). Our crew is a culmination or the old RFC and TML bboys/bgirls.

There are other crews around the country like the Bad Taste Cru (Omagh), Belfast city Breakers, Zonic Roc Cru (belfast) and the Rythem Rebels (Cork) however there seems to be next to noone in Dublin other than ourselves?(please prove me wrong,if ur out there get in touch!!)

Were always happy to teach anyone new to the scene espically if u have a venue (hall or decent area with good surface). however we train at least twice a week in areas around South Dublin. For more info check out the bboy/breakdance section of the Forum in www.irishhiphop.com. The "Training Spots" thread covers all the spots we jamm in. Alternativly you can Mail our crew on breakingheads@gmail.com

I don't have any photos of the crew uploaded but theres a few of my travelling bboy pics, I call them "Around the world in 80 breakz":

Out of nothing more than curisoity, is there a crossover between breakdancing and that new street-running thing I've seen on the Extreme channel? I figure breakdancers would take to it pretty quickly. Y'know, that thing where guys are jumping between buildings, off walls n' stuff. Has anyone seen people do it in Ireland?

There is a bit of interest between the bboys and the Parkour "tracers" alright. Alot of us would have always enjoyed jumping off things or trying to bang out a few freezes on different terrain/objects before we even knew about the whole parkour movement. It must just be some subconcious urge to interact with your surroundings or just a child like need to climb/crawl and leap between objects.

Now that parkour is more widely pratices you would see a bit of a crossover, for instance in Tallagh IT theres a "freestyle society" (www.freestylesite.tk) that consists of Breakdancing, Capoeira, and Parkour. There grouped together because you'd find that those who pratice one of these deciplines usually dabble in the others as they share the same levels of physical strength/flexibility/balance and those who pratice them usally have a similar mindset aswell. Theres another site at www.parkour-ireland.com (i think) that is a good place to start if u wana find traceurs in the area.

Only one of the lads in our crew would pratice Parkour regulary but we would be quite interested in maybe hookin up with a parkour crew for a jamm during the summer or somethin?? Hit a park/building/hall/area in town on a nice day and we all just do our own thing, We'd have a mini jamm while the'd work on there freerun, and we could get a bit of a swap of skills and techniques perhaps?

    Peace

Mainly just Funk and Breaks and Stuff. We somtimes dabble in a bit of electro but we always end up back with the funk!! It's just too damn good!
