    Goddamn!

I'm without proper e-mail as OE 5 has developed at fault see text below-

SIMN caused an invalid page fault in
    module MLANG.DLL at 0167:704561d6.

I've found another version of MLANG.DLL on my Win98SE
disk, however its an earlier version could I just extract it
to windows system folder and delete the current version?

    Any suggestions greatly appricated.

    Mike.

do a search for 'identities' on your harddrive, back it up or make a copy of that folder as that holds all your emails. Then try uninstalling or reinstalling internet explorer which usually has outlook express with it ....

I found the problem thanks to google (wtf would we do without it it?). Typed the following into RUN, regsvr32 /u mlang.dll
and pressed enter upon request and that fixed it.

All ones woes can be sorted here-

    http://support.microsoft.com/

well a few of them anyway :)

What was I saying? One problem fixed but another to solve
okay I can open OE but while I can receive I can't send.

I've set up e-mail in Opera 5 so its not really a problem but if anyone has a fix for this....

Oh yeah IE has gone wierd to.o I can browse but can't send
data, maybe the two probs are conneted.

MSIMN caused a stack fault in module ADVAPI32.DLL at 0167:bfe814db.

As OE is crashing, try the "repair" function of IE. In Control Panel, go into Add/Remove Programs, highlight Internet Explorer, choose the "repair" option, click ok, then yes, off she does her little thing and reboot.

If that don't let you send data or get mail, on Win 98 I'd upgrade to IE 6 or then you'd have to look at TCP/IP.

One other point. If you cant send data, how did you send your last message???? :D

Damo! I said I was now using Opera...tut,tut! I tried that fix
but no good, I was using IE6 when the problem occured, so I
went back to IE5 to see if that would fix it but no, as mentioned
I can collect mail in OE but messages that are simply typed won't
display instead they are in the form of an attachment which obviously I have to open manually. Very strange, its as if IE and OE have taken against the idea of displaying standard fonts.

    Maybe I have corrupted fonts????

Just in case anyone is following this...I re-installed IE 6
today off the MS website and everything seems fine, but
OE 6 still crashes when I try to compose or reply to an
e-mail. Still I've now got Opera Mail running so its not the end.

Just by-the-by for the two days IE wasnt working I was using Opera 5 frebie version and when on boards.ie it was hell,
pages took an age to load then re-loaded without any prompting from me. Funny thing was all other websites I used including
those using the same vbullietin software were much quicker.
    Strange...

No suggestions for your OE problem Mike (as reinstalling IE6 should have reinstalled OE I would guess) but you might want to consider upgrading your Opera to the latest 6.0x version. It'w what I use when I'm not using IE and find v6 nice and speedy on boards.

I must stop speaking to soon. Last night IE6 sent me an error
message three or four times in a few mins, it would request I sent the msg to HQ and then shut down and restarted IE.

This morning so far nothing but whats the point of sending error
reports to Bill, can they send me a report card back?!

I'm going to do a full virus scan in a mo, I did get a dodgy "dialer"
prog on my Win98 drive earlier this week which I thought I'd deleted all signs of but perhaps something is lurking in the undergrowth.

Ando, your solution won't solve the problem of not being able to send, anyway as I say Opera does the job well enough. I can live with that. Mind I'm going out tis morning to get another copy of IE6 if I can find one on a magazine cover CD and I'll have another go.

goto run type: "regsvr32 mlang.dll" and ok. That will sort your reply problem, you unregistered mlang.dll up there and that was the problem u have with the replying crash

That run tactic only woks to open OE it does'nt fix the compose/send problem I still get that Kernell.32 message.

Regarding the IE has detected an error message after the third or fourth appearence yesterday I decided to ignore it and carry on which I did without problem (one browser window had crashed
    but the rest were fine).

I've abandoned IE6/OS6! The browser now has a mind of its own some times it'll send data sometimes it needs
to be repaired, which as one has to reboot is a total pain.

I'm now using Opera 6.05 and its fine, much quicker than Opera 5 which crawled at boards.ie

Now if I could only figure out how to move all the contents
of OE 6 into Opera mail....

    Mike.
