    Hi guys,

I've forgotten how to load the Sky FTA EPG (ie. the EPG that loads with no card in the box). It's been a while since I did it, but I've tried just removing the viewing card then rebooting the box, then rebooting again but I've had no joy :( (I've probably even answered this question myself in other threads! :D )

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Glennus,

Switch to standby, unplug the box, leave it for a couple of minutes, take out the card, plug the box back in and switch on. After it has searched for listings, the EPG should be the FTA one with the BBC Radio channels etc.

    Hope this works for you.

Thanks for the quick reply Charles, however the box is still remembering the Irish EPG for some reason. I even tried a software download and it was still there :( I don't know why, as it used to work. I wanted the BBC radio channels on the EPG this afternoon - I guess I'll just have to faff on in other channels...

    Hmmm...

Just tried it with my own silver Grundig box and it worked as usual. 1Xtra BBC is there on Channel 919.

I wonder would it have anything to do with the new software. My software hasn't been updated yet. Maybe they've added something to make it remember the previous EPG.

Anyone else with either new or old software tried it ?

I feared it could be due to the new software; I also have the silver Grundig.

could this be the beginning of Sky's assault on illegal FTV card holders?

My pace box loads the fta epg as normal, and it has had the new software for about a week. This I know because of a ruined recording thanks to that stupid "your batteries are low" message obscuring the entire screen from last week.

It sounds like there may be a problem with the flash memory in your box.
Supposedly if you hold down the backup key while turning off the power followed by a forced download it wipes extra parts of the memory that are usually retained.
Although if there is a problem with the memory in the box it might be best to leave it alone altogether.

Hey John, I tried the forced download but it still had the Irish EPG afterwards.

Mossy, I thought that too, but I'd imagine the box will still load the correct EPG for the card inserted.
