What's the perfect time to start...?

Alright folks, what's the perfect time to start drinking on a saturday night?

I'm thinking 9, early enough but not too early, you'll get a seat and pretty near the bar.

The most frustrating nights out are when you're too late into a place and then there's f*u*c*k all seats in the place and you're standing around like a spare toole, looking awkward!

Standing around like a spare tool, most people go to the pub with "friends"...... although maybe if you are standing around like a spare tool, maybe its a better option to start drinking at 4 in the afternoon. TBH, I hate sitting in bars/pubs. I like to stand up, move around, meet people. Chat, get to know as many people as I can. Why dont you just go out when you are ready...... dont plan life so much, just take it as it comes. If you plan too much, you end up being disappointed if things dont go as you "Plan"

half 8 - 9 I'd say.. if I'm going out I like to make a night out of it, get a good few hours off from the pressures of every day life (yeah, :p)

going in at 10, and going home at half 2.. 4 and a half hours, seems too short to me.

    Sir Lump,
Tis true tis true, I like moving around pubs too but at the same time, I like to have somewhere where I can sit down...it's one thing to walk around and meet people but it's another to find a group where you can actually talk and sit with...it's good to have the group of friends that you're used to and you can talk to.

And when I meant standing around like a spare toole, I meant when yourself and the group you go to the pub with have nowhere to sit and you're just standing around in the middle of the pub, because it's too busy.

I like your thoughts on planning though, that's true, planning is not good because it never works out to plan...NEVER.

Mordeth and Mossy monk, I like your style! they're good times to go in alright, just to enjoy the night.

On Saturdays, I would agree with Mossy. 7.30 is the time to go out! Although yesterday, I started at 4!

/me is not well today!

The question isnt "Whats the time to start?" but rather "When do we finish, my liver is the size of Poland".

If I am going on a night of the gargle I like to get the girls over to my house about 7 ish have a few beers a few bottles of vino (cheepest kind & 7up to make it bareable). Get half way merry then go to the pub and manipulate some poor group of fellas out of their chairs by looking as if you cant stand in your strappy 4 inch shoes (when you really borrowed them off a friend who cant wear them cos you think your feet need amputation afterwards but you ignore the pleas and wear them anyways). So once your comfey on the stolen chairs you get some poor bugger to serve you drinks for the night as you cant stand up incase you loose your balance (them shoes again) and spill your alci-mohol.

2 hours later the shoes are gone and your dancing like a professional, or so you think, but really falling all over the place. then come 3am thinking its time to leave , @ 4am still looking for shoes which were throwen in the air through sheer hatred. 5 am found shoes now to master the exit and find a chipper. Or the thoughts of tea and toast is better then sex with Ben Affleck. 6am vomiting in the lav 6.30 am bed with that nessessary ringing of the music in the ears, 8.am wake up with mouth that feels like carpet.

Dont plan they all end up the same way

Jaysus - a bar you can get a seat in at 9pm on a Saturday night! No wonder you'd go out so late :)

My Saturday drinkies are mostly spontaneous : meet mates for coffee/breakfastlunch, never leave bar. OR Meet mates for coffee/breakfast/lunch, go shopping, go back for post-shopping pint, never leave bar.

When they're actually planned, its usually around the 6:30 to 7:30 meet-up timeframe.
