Has anyone with a UK FTV card in Ireland got S4C ?

If you phone them to get it, would they ask for your address etc ?

If you get the person who originally got you the card to ring up, they should be able to get it switched on for you.

According to other posts they do ask for your postcode.

    S4C

regarding s4c the FTV card i have is a welsh registered card so i automatically recieve s4c on EPG 104, the down side is channel4 is on EPG 184 which is a bit a of a pain in the arse, as for s4c it is the s4c digital service, not the analogue version, that is on Sky Digital. I'd say save the money on the phone call and not to bother activating the channel... unless you understand welsh....that is

    Cheers

Hi I recently I asked for S4C to activated on my FTV card . They said because my card was registered to a London postcode this could not be done. I queried this with the FTA information centre and after sometime they agreed that it was not possible.

S4C is available (by request) to all UK users outside of Wales. But do not call the FTV number as they can not do anything (and possibly don't know), you must call S4C direct on the number displayed on-screen.

Although programming is in Welsh, some does have English subtitles.

There was live UEFA Cup football on the channel this week.

Also, I have found if you say it is for a FTV card they say it is only for Sky subscribers, even though there is no charge. But if you don't say it is a FTV card then they do it!

Strangely... sky operate the S4C phone lines in Scotland... abit odd really, I tried to put it on an FTA Card - they asked for the box number and got a little suspicious - don't know if they recognised I had an Irish Sky Card registered to that box!!!

    JUST BE CAREFUL!!!

And maybe they've changed the rules.... I think most of the time it depends on the person you speak to at the time!
