sky will repair your digibox free of charge if you ring up and say you want to cancel your sub. as your box is faulty and you cannot afford to pay repair costs. i have done this about 10 times for customers in the last month with 100% success. they will come and replace your box with a refurbished one.

All well and good - but if you do this, does it mean you are under contract for 12 months after they replace your box??

It could be similar to if you have a contract mobile phone, and upgrade your handset after 10 months or so. Doing this means you are under contract once again for a further 12 months after they upgraded your handset.

Just be weary!

Then you have to go through the whole process of replacing your
FTV cards.
I'd rather if they fixed the old box.

Sky must blow hot and cold on this one - I was only 3 weeks out of my 1 year warranty and they would not repair for free - I cancelled my sub and sent my box back to Pace - and paid Paces charges!
