Two questions really - why does some beaches fish best at low water - like Keel Beach in Achill Island? And secondly does anyone have any tips for fishing that beach - I am told that the best spot is over in fact almost under the Cliffs? Thanks

I can't give a very detailed explanation, although I'm sure it depends what your after. My favourite example of course being Bass, they are predators, they move closer to the shore at full tide to take advantage of warmer waters and food such as rockfish, soft crabs and other small fish that have been trapped in small pools during the tide going out are once again revealed and try to escape to deeper water where the bass will be waiting.

I would have to assume that said beach has warmer waters due to many rocks lying exposed at low tide as opposed to high tide (all fish love this). The fish may also appreciate being more camouflaged due to there being higher concentrations of seaweed in said level of water so they may feel to exposed at high tide and opt to hunt at low tide.
