can it be done? If so how? (links to tools would be appreciated).

I've looked but its not obvious if you can do it at all...

I seem to recall Bio having an mpeg (like the film SeVeN).

    Dev.

I have done that. what you do is:

    1. Load up whatever demo it is that u want the clip from.
    2. Use a cfg with all loads of graphics etc turned on.
    3. Use a few binds like these:
    a) bind f1 "timescale 1"
    b) bind f2 "timescale 0.2"
    c) bind f3 "cl_avidemo 8"

    4. Go the the point in the demo you want, hit f2, and then f3. That will write 8screenies per second, so after 5 seconds you have 40 screenies, and seeing as you are running it at 20%, you have 40 FPS. If your PC cant handle it, lower the avidemo to 4 and the timescale to .1 etc etc
    5. In your screenshots folder you'll have a bunch of 1meg TGA files. String them together and wallop. What I used to use for it when I was gonna make one, was Adobe Premier. It is "teh bomb".

Thank Zero, I had kinda figured it out by trial and error.

I'll give it a go and see what I can do....

hmm, thats me wonder. Are there any really class Q3 movies out there. I know in UT for instance, Fooze made a movie, 15 mins long for their 5 year anniversary and it was amazing. Are there any notable Q3 movies around?
