Dell Aztech Winmodems (MDP-#### etc)

    I don't think anyone has posted anything on this before (at least not the solution), but for anyone that has an Aztech modem - as a lot of Dell Dimensions have been fitted with over the past few years have - then you can find a linux driver at:

    This works with the MDP3880-W for definite - that's what I'm using right now, under Mandrake 8.2. Also, if you have another type of winmodem, check if it's based on a Conexant chip, because that's what's at the core of the Dell Aztech ones, and also it's the generic chip that this driver is made for. If the HCF one doesn't work, then try the HSF. If neither works and it is definitely one or the other, then the mailing list subscribers on that website are really helpful and knowledgeable, especially Marc, the driver (co-)developer.
