Channel 4 news on Broadband

Was watching channel 4 news and a report regarding broadband came on. Its main focus centered on the lack of broadband net access in rural areas, specifically a small town in Wales (equivalent to any number of towns here). One complaint centered around an organic produce manufacturer who sold 40% of his products on the internet and was concerned about losing out due to a slow internet connection and the high costs incurred on such a slow service. This was a town 5 miles from an exchange. A prominent local farmer was also making the case for a faster internet service. The reporter also added how most populated areas in the UK now enjoyed the broadband experience but rural areas were suffering fromlack of investment. Not only did they have the dedicated "E-commerce" minister speak but the director of broadband at Bt also spoke on the matter.
It was amazing to see a news item like it and I wondered if i could imagine RTE ever having something like it,nope. In fact it seemed rural areas in England seem to be on par with "developed" areas here.
What do we have here?, large rodents along with transvestites and Queen.(reference to newest annoying éircon ad, just you in case you were wondering or scared :)

LOL, thats exactly what they were referring to in the program. Just think, a farmer in the welsh countryside will be able to get affordable broadband while we'll still be chugging along at 56k.

And, worse than that, we'll still be chugging along at 56K and paying for it per minute. Now there's a depressing thought. :(
