...my German is very rusty, but if I'm not mistaken that page says "this [offer/article/thingy] is only valid in the following [german region]s: Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, ...", so what's the point in asking, unless you're actually "yankinde"? ;)

I think this was offered before in Ireland, and people were quick to warn that it doesn't work with Sky Digital. If you want to get foreign channels, say off Hotbird or one of those satellites, then maybe you should invest...

(P.S.> Mods - move this to "Community->ICDG->Satellite", perhaps?)

yank in de, very cute. ;)

and i dont speak german, but the offer was posted on the outside of a LIDL here in LK, so i recon it will arrive here.

i have sky digi, just wondering about this rig as i dont know much about them, but for a tech head like meeself, always interested in sticking another brain wave frying antennae on my roof ( i have 3 at the moment, possibly explains my dyslexia and bad spelling)

    Satellite system @ €59.99
    Manuf: Morgan's Kingston

Includes: 1 receiver, dish, LNB, cable, manual.
    DiSEqC 1.0
    999 programmable channels
    2 years guarantee

The wall bracket is an extra €4.99

"The next generation in TV viewing" is the punchline! LMFAO. Maybe 15 years ago!

It would pick up about 45 channels on Astra including Eurosport, CNN, CNBC, MTV Germany, MTV2 POP, Viva, Viva Plus, Vox, etc.

The offer was on before but the manufacturer was Welltech and the dish quality was rubbish. Lucky if the dish lasted a year.

A fascinating offer I hope to avail of the satbeeper at a mere €9.99 ;)

Is this worth getting or would it be a wast of €60?

would it be worth getting for the parts you might use later IE dish and LNB?

Any one got any ideas about this offer or should it be left in the shop?

    Eóin

The only thing that satellite system is good for is getting the occasional soft porn film late at night on Sat 1 and those kinds of things. Or so I've been told. lol :D

Or if you're a fluent German speaker and would like to watch Sat 1's Jay Leno rip-off show, "Late Night mit Hermann Shmidt" (I think that's what it's called anyway!). :D

Its an excellent deal for what is essentially "ready to run" straight out of the box.
There is some Analogue channels left, not a lot of quality though and for someone looking to experience satellite tv it is suitable but you would out-grow it very quickly as it presents lots of limitations.
