I have recently aquired a 512mb pc133 memory chip which i installed successfully. So my system has 512mb ram in total.

Now i have a 128mb pc100 chip in my posession. Is there any point in adding this to my motherboard seeing as how the 512mb chip is running at 133mhz. Would it slow the memory down and would it be better to buy a 128mb pc133 chip.

    tks.

As far as I know, if you put a stick pf pc100 in amongst the pc133, you'd have to run the whole lot at 100mhz.

    that is correct.
it will run at the lowest speed.

I had 1024 pc100 and recently upgraded to 512 pc 133 also got a CPU but out of curiosity i justput in the ram and left in my old 800 duron to see the difference and i was amazed the 133 was being used a lot better and fast than the 1024 100 ram.

so sell the 128 or use in a server thing :)
