best place ive found in Dublin is LOOP
its a bit more expensive but its worth it, the gears good and the people are friendly. but its insanely hot in there!
AppleRock is next on the list as its cheap and the rooms are Ok most have fans and stuff the gears ok too.
Dont ever go to Temple bar music centre rooms, the gear is Terrible!!!
try www.thingsyouremissing.com for more info on em all

Damn right Bombidol, TBMC rooms really suck. The best thing to do is get a friends garage, cheaper and more accessible.

I used to work in the Temple Bar music Centre and we used to store loads of kegs in the end room. Sometimes we'd have to stop the bands from rehearsing for 5 minutes to roll out kegs of Guinness, minding not to scratch their lovely guitars of course. Not sure if it's still the same though.

As for studios, I heard of a place near the Point depot, is that still around?

Oh, and the TBMC did a special on late bookings - If you phoned up at the time the room is meant to be booked for and no-one is around - the room is half price.
How does this fare with other rehearsal rooms?

dunno if they still do that in tbmc.
i used to work in the rehearsal rooms in the ormonde multimedia centre (Remember that??) and they were owned by the same ppl as tbmc, so we used to swop the gear, and put half crappy gear in tbmc and half crappy in the ormonde and share out the ok gear.
i once had to wheel a 10 ft bass bin across the cobble stones of temple bar for thise bastards!!!!!!

They don't store the kegs in that room, but in the corridor outside now, and yeah we booked a cancellation in that end room and got it for €30 there on Tuesday. The equipment is bóllox though.

Apple rock is pretty good, haven't tried loop yet... must do.

Well we rehearse out in Soundlease - (01) 4509711.

It's out in Walkinstown (just off Ballymount rd) and it's €45 for a four hour session.

Rooms are small enough, but there's parking and the gear's alright (they recently got new kit's - nothing special about them - just new:) )

I used to rehearse in City arts years ago, but I believe it's gone now (well the studios anyway)

Jesus lads, spending money to rehearse. I use my freinds garage. Bigger than any room in TBMC, and free all free. And i dont have to worry about lugging my equipment around.

Not everyone has the luxury of a friends garage.

I too use Sound Lease, I've played in them all TMBC, City Arts, Apple Rock, LOOP, Verve etc..., I have to say I most satisfied with Sound Lease. The guy who runs it is very friendly and goes out of his way to get you a room. Also does half price if you ring up late looking for a cancellation. Gear is in fairly good nick too. You can also rent the gear for gigs off him if you want. Compared to the other places. LOOP would be second but it just too damn small and the rooms are too warm, ends up getting very noisy.

Loop is extremely hot, they have fans in some of the rooms but all they do is blow warm air at you..
    where is sound lease?

    bomb:confused:

Just After the Walkinstown roundabout. Coming from Terenure it's the third exit on the left off the roundabout and the first left after the texaco garage.

The best place to rehearse is a new studio down by connolly station. Its got new big rooms, free parking even a canteen for the bands. Pm me and I can give you the guys number. Its really cheap, we jam there all the time. Actually we are looking for a band to share a room with?

Interesting way to get around board rules on advertising.
    This is your place no?;)

are you sure its only 45 quid a session cause we were gettin charged 60 for the four hours includin the kit amps and what not. dunno if the gear adds to the price!

id second gettin a shed for rehearsin tho you have more freedom to write stuff cause your not working to a time frame.
