    Actually, its a shame he killed it and stuck it in the freezer.
    A photo on the boat would have been fine. I always carry a small (cheap) digital camera with me when I go fishing...

    True it is a pity he killed it, would be more useful alive then dead :(

    Maybe the fish was already dead?
    It's described that he lifted the fish out of the water with his hands. Might have died because of the colder water around Ireland?

    I dunno, just a thought.

    no. you can find them off the aran islands. personally i think it's ignorant to even try kill a sunfish. they are harmless.

    i really doubt it was dead already. Sunfish are easy to get with your hands like that, when they are in irish waters they flop around the surface lazily - maybe its to get the heat of the sun.
