OK, my gf lives (with her family) in terenure and is in a place where allegedly they can get digital from NTL. Their phone line has a DACS on it, put there by eircom a few years back, and it's really annoying my gf when she wants to use the internet (she's used to college speeds) - they get a normal connection of around 25Kbps. So I was looking at NTL's cable internet yokie there, and I know what's on offer. But is it? Just because they could get digital tv, does it mean NTL can also give them cable internet. Always-on 128 looks perfect for her needs, but I'm hearing rumours that NTL won't make any new connections at the mo.

And is anyone with NTL atm, and does it work all time? :( If they could supply even half of Dublin with the services they offer on their homepage, eircom would be ruined :(

NTL's internet service runs on a two-way digital cable system whereas the digital tv runs on a one-way digital system. Just because an area is upgraded to digital doesn't necessarily mean that the internet/phone service is available too.

Ring them and give them the address, they may be able to tell you if it is available.
