Killer instinct and killer instinct 2 are both emulated. the emulator is called U64emu. here is the link: http://kiame.emuhq.com/

the roms for it are big though. 100mb+ each. i have em on a cd somewhere i just cant find it. ki1 is almost perfectly emulated but ki2 is very buggy as there has only been one release of the ki2 emulator. it was coded by rcp of n64 plugin and trwin fame.

as for power drift. hmmm i think final burn emulates it. i remember playing it in the arrivals hall in dublin airport. they had r-type there to.

Neither KI nor KI2 are perfect emulated versions, KI2 more-so i suppose but with only one release thats to be expected.

KI is good, needs a middle of the road machine to run, KI2 really needs a high end machine with a geforce type card to go anywhere near as fast as it should.

Pretty good fun but the coders didn't allow access to the test menu, at least i can't find it if they did and as a result the game is stuck on the same annoying difficulty you woulda found at the arcade. Translated that means, it gets consistantly harder for a few stages before becoming insane 2-3 matches before eyedol.

You must be pretty bad at KI then cause it's not that hard to complete, all you need is to have played the machine to death in the arcades. I've read in other forums that the game is to easy!
    ;)

You can get to the test menu. Just change the dip2 setting from playmode to testmode.

It was only ever "easy" at medium setting in the arcade if you cheesed your way to victory by using spinal (who was extremely over powered in KI1) or cinder, you could also use various crap combos with ppl like orchid. I was more talking about actually playing the game, using varied combo's, trying to combo break on the odd occasion and playing it for fun rather than repeating the same thing over and over again, which is quite a bit more successful alright.

I was having fun and i enjoyed nothing more then working out different combo's and juggle's etc. Are you telling me you've never liked a arcade game so much you'd waste all your pocket money on it???:D (If not why be bothered getting them now to play on your PC)
The game was easy on "Hard" as well. With some practice it's the machine that begins to repeat itself bugs.

I didn't play KI in the arcade, i played tonnes of KI gold when it hit the N64, but at that point the time had passed and no one was playing it :)

Tekken is something that i've bothered with to a large degree. A friend is the irish number 1 and after playing for a fairly long time i can usually come out 50:50 in games with him.
It made sense to play a game that other ppl will play against me in, albeit for a very short period.
