A recent ftv card experience

I know alot of you have been filling very interesting and helpful threads on the subject of the ftv cards for bbc, itv, c4 etc., and what ive read im glad to say has helped me finally secure one and today get it activated.

I dont wish to repeat whats been said in other threads, but to be of help to people i thought i might give some info on what the situation is from my experience.

Firstly it took weeks for the actual card to arrive from the place to my relations uk address after id made the call, so if you need the card for something in particular, start making those calls now.
When i called they asked for postcode only, nothing else and my number was not blocked or anything.

When i eventually received the card i wasnt prepared. I had a second digibiox, and i was still waiting for my twin lnb to be installed, to allow me run two digiboxes. But i had crudely split the signal of the lnb to two digiboxes. I was worried when i then went to ring the bbc card activation number as i feared that this dodgy split signal box wouldnt activate the card.

I rang and the lady asked for my name and the english address i had used, and the number of the card which i had just received, thats all, no digibox serial number or anything.

Within 1 hour(count it) i had all extra channels including the ever elusive bbc 1 which usually takes a lot longer.

Now my sky subscription(granted bar a few channels because of the weird polarisation issues) and my bbc ftv box are working well.
Now all i need to do is get the guy out to install the twin lng.

Just taught id share my experience with you on this as in the run up to getting this i couldnt get enough of reading topics on ftv cards and the various issues people have had with them.

All i can say is ring now and get one.

Thanks for that, I will be doing the same very shortly, it's nice to know that you were not asked for your digi box serial number!

Cheers for that - I had some confusion around the serial number.
Should have my card Monday so I'll get it activated then so!
