Gaelic subtitles

I lived in Greece for 4 years and one of the things that really helped me learn the language was watching english/american programs on TV with Greek subtitles. It was a godsend.

What I have noticed here in Ireland is the fact that on TG4 - Gaelic programs do not have english subtitles. I would love to learn the language in this relaxed way but it just doesn't happen. Until today... I saw a cookery program in Irish with english subtitles. Great!

Not much point to this thread really, sorry! Just that I wish that this would happen more, it could get peoples interest in the language - heightened.

    What do you think?
