i am looking to set up an aerial away from my house. i am wondering what distance away from the house to set it up. what distance would coax go to. now i know that it wont go too far as the picture quality will detiorate. what i was thinking of doing wsa putting a amplifier/booster onto the cable before plugging it into the tv. just to be sure.

so how far will it go??

normal tv co-ax isn't properly shielded for the elements, however get yourself some decent outdoor cable and you should easily be able to run it up to 30 or 40metres without any noticeable picture quality loss.
