This is probally totally in the wrong place but ive done a search and cant find the thread im looking for, so appologies in advance.

Im looking for someone who can tell me the code to place infront of a number on your mobile to show your ID

like on your land line you put 141 or 142 to show or hide id, what are the codes for the mobile?

    thankyou for your help.

you see im getting abusive calls from an unknown number and my mate at work has her mobile number withheld, she wants to be able to ring me as now i dont answer her calls as i think its the other person.

my idea was that i would save my number in here phone book with the code to unhide her id so when she rang me i could see it was her.

she doesnt give out her number to anyone and therefore hides her id constantly.

i thought this was a good idea. but maybe it wont work, i thought if there was a way to show your number when your x directory the same would be true of mobiles maybe not.

    thankyou

Is there even a code to send your ID? Considering it's sent by default.

if you are x directory on a land line you dial 142 before the numer and it will show your ID

i am trying to find out if there is such a code for mobiles.

She would have to change it from her end, rather than you changing it at yours.

If you don't get a prefix for her to reveal her number here, if it's a Nokia, she can go into Settings/Phone Settings/Own Number Sending and change it from Preset to On.

I mean, heavens, except for stalkers, who generally has their preset setting changed to "off" when they buy their phone?

If you're getting abusive calls from an unknown number, get the cops involved. That's one of their jobs and they'll be glad to help out, I'm sure. Phone your phone provider and let them know too - they will be able to tell who's ringing somehow.

this friend of mine has it switched to off for personal reason i cannot or will not go into here, let me give you an example, if programme into my land line here on a preset number 1411234567 then it will automatically hide my id, in my friends house she is x directory, she has my number stored on her land line 1421234567 so when she pressed the button for me it automatacally shows her id even though she is x directory.

on her mobile we want to do the same thing but dont know the codes and no one seems to even though there was a thread on here some time ago with these codes.

i dont think im explaining it well enough

I get what you are saying.
The thing is, a landline is made ex-dir so your number is hidden by default. You dial 142 to revel your ID when you make a call.
It's exactly the opposite with a mobile, you key in #31# to hide your ID.
Like Sceptre said you can with Nokia phones go to Settings/Phone Settings/Own Number Sending and then change it to off.
So what I'm trying to say is, why would there be a code to send your ID when it's supposed to be sent anyway.
If you have your ID withheld then the way to send it is to go into settings and put it back to preset or on.

This may of course be wrong. But google is currently down so I cant check.
