    Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a Mac, but I'm wondering if it will be OK to play newish games, like Quake 3 and Doom 3 when it comes out... do these kind of games run OK on Macs?

    Thanks in advance

I will get the most up-to-date one available, fastest graphics card and stuff.

Its prety much the luck of the draw whether games come out for the mac or not. Studios seem to be getting better tho, i see Warcraft III has a mac version in the same box as the PC version. As to Quake3, theres a mac version and theres a mac version of UT as well, so i assume that there will be apple friendly versions of the up and coming UT2003 and Doom3.

Still no mac half life tho :(

halo was origionally intended for dual PC and mac support.
Then MS bought Bungie (who traditionally developped for both platforms) and another decent company was destroyed.

Yeah...I wonder if it'll be any good though.
Gearbox are doing it and they did Opposing force, which was shít imo. Just too easy by far.

Atm I'm enjoying Cro-Mag Rally. but the frame rate is a bit slow.
I'd expect a little more grandeur off a mac, even with an ATi card...
