GPRS problems

Guys I have tried some of the WAP pages listed in this forum. I keep getting the following error 'page is too large to send back' Any comments suggestions appreciated. I'd like some decent WAp pages for Ireland as well - BOI Online, news, sport etc.

Give us some examples of WML sites that are throwing up errors. Also what are you using to connect?

I have a Siemens S45. I'm on O2. I tried the yahoo and bbc news websites from a thread in this forum.

The thread with the links (do you GPRS too?) had a WAP list to use on the handset, and a PDA friendly list for use on a PDA (connected to the phone).

If you try and just use the phone to look at the PDA friendly sites it will give you that error "The page is too large to send back". So if you are just using a phone to connect you need to stick to the WAP sites.

Can you connect to the O2 Ireland WAP homepage http://wap.dol.ie ?
If so you can reach the Bank of Ireland, AIB etc, directly from the Business/Banking link. RTE News is available from the News & Weather link.

If you can connect to the O2 WAP homepage then the Yahoo and Ananova WAP links should also work:
Ananova: http://wap.ananova.com
Yahoo! UK & Ireland: http://uk.wap.yahoo.com/raw
Yahoo! (USA): http://home.mobile.yahoo.com

If you are having problems connecting to any WAP sites, then GPRS WAP may not be set-up correctly, if it is, your phone many need a software (firmware) update. There there was a GPRS update for the Siemens S45 handset released a while back. Check the "GPRS - Upgrade" box on the top right, or visit the "Downloads & Applications.

Guys,
I've tried these sites and now I'm getting a different error - 'Incorrect CSD profile'
I think I should contact O2 directly.
Thanks for the help.
I shall report back later.
