According to the BBC's digital text (under 'entertainment'), FilmFour is to close. The venture lost £5m last year, and it has had a series of movie flops in recent months.

    No closure date was given.

    Erm, No.

    Not quite.

FilmFour, the film production arm is seperate from FilmFour, the TV channel. FilmFour the TV channels shows films where as FilmFour the production arm makes films.

The production arm has not made a decent picture in a few years, and so it is loosing a lot of money, and in a time of advertising recession, it will be the first to go. The TV channels will not be disappearing.

Film4 is one of the more watchable subscription channels on Sky.
Losing the Film4 channels will lessen the value of the Sky platform as a whole, unless somebody starts a similar set of movie channels.

    Carrolls,

as Damo said, this piece of news refers to the FilmFour film production company, not the FilmFour movie channels on Sky Digital. Needless to say the vast majority of movies shown on FilmFour are not made by FilmFour, so this shouldn't have too much of an effect on the film channels.

And by the way, I also love the new signature.

This image is a GIF file.
You can use a shareware program called ULEAD GIF animator, and put any sequence of JPG's (Even MPG frames) into the GIF file.
Here is the link for the shareware.
