Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Will be in Limerick (working) for a few days next week, and I need some recommendations for a good restaurant for dinner with a lady friend.
    Any suggestions ?
Must be in the city BTW.

Am looking for something a bit more upmarket from the suggestions made in this thread:

Try La Piccola on OConnell St for a romantic Italian evening but it can be a little cramped and warm. Tiger Lillies Bistro on Ellen St does excellent contemporary cuisine in a lively, open setting and Freddys Bistro on Theatre Lane off Glentworth St does Irish contemporary food in a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere on two floors. My own favourite would be Freddys.

    I can't second this enough.

I had a meal in Freddy's around Christmas time when I was visiting some friends, and it was absolutely outstanding.

Decent wine list as well - short, but well-chosen. They even had my favourite red (Chateau Musar).

    Definitely work a look.

I like the Piccola alot. However, you'd need to book a few days in advance (yes, its THAT popular!).

The restaurant in The Locke is also fantastic, as is The Green Onion at the very bottom of O'Connell St.

You would probably want to book any of them a few days in advance as all are very popular.

Bella Italia on thomas street has the nicest food in Limerick. Small enough venue though.
