A friend of mine is looking to buy a portable CD/cassette player in the region £100, can anyone recommend a good make/model?

I have a wee Philips job, cost 120 quid at the time, not bad sound out of it at all but I just use a decent pair of headphones with it anyway.

tbh with something like this though its mostly down to personal taste (e.g. what you want sitting on your shelf or whatever), cos the sounds pretty much all the same.

My advice would be to simply head down to currys or powercity at an offpeak time with your favourite cd and give it a blast on a few of them, and choose the better one.
