Anyone get out to see either Murder By Numbers or Rollerball over the weekend?

    Both pretty unspectacular, unfortunately.

Murder By Numbers was the better of the two. Good characters, interesting premise, and some great acting by the two kids. Probably a half hour too long, though. It dragged a bit in places. Did anyone spot the plothole revealed by the ending?

Rollerball was pretty dumb and stupid. Jean Reno was absolutely dire as the russian boss (a french guy who has can't speak english very well, trying to speak english with a russian accent.... yipes...). And don't get me started on Chris Klein.....

There's only one new movie worth seeing this week:
    Minority Report

Adaptation of a novel by Philip K Dick (of BladeRunner fame), directed by Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise and Colin Farrel.

    More here...

Rollerball got absolutely awful reviews (2/10). Not bothering with that.

Murder By Numbers was decent, but not particularly great. You can really tell Bullock was involved in the producing, as the whole film seems to revolve around her character. Would have been better if it'd been about the murder, as opposed to about a detective who investigates a murder. Perhaps it's just cos I can't stand the woman.

Minority Report will (hopefully) be great. Hope to God it won't be a mix of Vanilla Sky and AI ;)

Only ok, the two murderes were decent enough characters. However their collapse at the end of the movie was inexplicable considering they were supposed to be highly intelligent. Watchable I suppose.

A stupid plothole in MBN was pointed out to me by a friend of mine after the movie......
It looked all along like Richard killed the girl, but in the end it turned out to be Justin because Cassie had marks on her neck from Richard's ring and the girl didn't. If you had a big stupid ring like that on your finger, surely you'd have taken it off if you were putting on skin tight latex gloves. Its a bit of a stretch to think that Cassie called Justin's bluff.... Justin could still have got away with it.
    .

    Ah well...

String of good movies on the way over the next few weeks (at last) .... Roll on Minority Report (this week) and Scooby Doo / Resident Evil next week, Bad Company and Jason X the week after, Goldmember the week after that, and MIB2 the week after that! :)

    Saw Murder by Numbers today.

Odd title for it really (I suppose A Perfect Murder was taken relatively recently)

Premise reminded me of Hitchcock's Rope

    (not a spoiler at all)
I'd like to know how her husband managed to call her and reverse the charges from prison when she had moved and changed her name though (maiden name maybe, but sill)

Not the worst movie I've seen all year by a long shot, hopefully not the best either.
