    Dave Gorman

After tieing myself to a chair and stapling my feet to the floor, I watched the full programme of Dave Gorman(on fri night), and is it me or am I being funny, is it not the stupidest thing on tv?(yes beating BB by a long shot).
I can see the point to the show- a quest to win a bet with a friend to find over 100(or so) Dave Gormans, but HELLO! it doesn't make the best tv......Does It??

Um maybe I'm wrong here but didn't he already do that last year? I saw his stand up act where he did a routine based on perfect numbers (doesn't sound like it could be funny but it was) but his tv show is utter rubbish.

its very enjoyable and gets better, I love the end when the audience has to take an oath of aliegance.

I quite liked it, the idea sounds kinda stupid (he thought it up while drunk) but he carries it off well.

I saw a few episodes of this when it was being aired originally. I thought it was a good life. Definitely a nice break from the norm.

I know this is an old thread people, but I'd be shot if I started a new one. I loved The Dave Gorman collection when it was on the BBC a few years back, I found it side splittingly funny, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at something on TV.
I just saw his Gogglewhack show on TV last night, and while not as funny as The Dave Gorman collection, I thought it was good TV and very entertaining. Anyone else agree that he can be hillarious?

yeah i really like the first one, it was great, but i didn't like the way he was roaring and shouting in the googlewhack one, and yes i am cynical and believe he knew he had his book all the way along...

the googlewhack idea wasn't as funny..., but he had a great way of telling a story...

I only ever saw the last episode of "Are You Dave Gorman". I read the googlwhack book, but I can't imagine it making good tv to be honest

I like him though. He had a good show on radio 4 earlier this year called Genius. It's coming back later this year, I believe.

Literally cried with laughter when watching the GoogleWhack adventure. Starts slow but by the end I was in ribbons (though I was under the influence of some narcotics which used to be legal when I watched it)...

I think he's quite good. Googlewhack was brilliant but I only saw the second half of it. My favourite thing that I've seen him in is "Dave Gorman's important Astrology Experiment" where he tries to live only by his horoscope for 40 days.

Pity I never watched that when it was on, and strangely he's only released the Googlewhack programme on DVD, and not The Dave Gorman Collection which I thought was far superior.

The GoogleWhack show pops up on Paramount quite a bit, he's cool, I must say.

I love all of his work. Is anybody else looking forward to America Unchained on More4 on Tuesday?

well it was quite good, but spent too much time going on about gas stations, and not enough time on the actual people he met. Besides which, even the independent gas stations are getting their petrol from Texaco, Exxon etc.

I pointed that out on another thread (elsewhere) You cant beat The Man.

I liked the programme though, something absorbing about the race to find fuel in the middle of a beautiful nowhere. Maybe if you've had that kind of experience it gains a little extra :)

    Mike.

    Brillant stuff!

I liked the bit when the man asked them where in California are you from and they replied London, and he said that he's a huge Thin Lizzy nut.

Great programme covering parts of America that don't often get much attention.

Yeah, it wasn't quite as catchy as his other stuff, but I liked it. I'll probably read the book when it comes out. I'd say there'll be a lot there that he couldn't fit in. It definitely was the case with 'are you dave gorman' and the googlewhack adventure.

I really liked America Unchained - it wasn't as good as The Googlewhack Adventure but i think that was better because it was part of his stand-up show.

Parts of it were really touching - the store shutting in Independence nearly had me in tears. But he has a knack of making great shows. Top marks
